Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Director of Nose Lab Clinic.

Today, I’d like to share a case where we successfully improved both functional nasal issues (chronic rhinitis, nasal congestion) and aesthetic concerns (asymmetry, nasal drooping, and disproportions in facial balance) through rhinoplasty.

Design Consultation: Frontal View, Left Side View, and Oblique Side View Photos

1. Primary Symptoms

Design Consultation: Right Side View, Oblique Side View, and Nostril View Photos

🔹 Chronic rhinitis

🔹 Bilateral nasal congestion

🔹 Nasal bone asymmetry

🔹 Drooping nasal tip

2. Patient’s Requests

Harmonious nose shape that complements the face

Improvement of drooping nasal tip

Correction of nasal bone asymmetry

Proportionally balanced midface (not appearing too elongated)

A natural-looking nose (avoiding excessive volume)

Straightening of the "humped" nasal profile 3. Surgical Plan & Approach

a. Structural Enhancement

  • Performed lateral osteotomy to reshape the nasal bones and correct asymmetry.

  • Improved nasal framework alignment for a well-balanced nasal bridge.

b. Functional Improvement

  • Used donated rib cartilage to reinforce the nasal structure.

  • Reconstructed the septal cartilage to strengthen nasal support.

  • Performed septal extension grafting to improve nasal airflow and tip support.

c. Aesthetic Refinement

  • Adjusted nasal bridge height using a silicone implant for a refined and natural look.

  • Created a smooth nasal tip transition for better definition.

  • Harmonized the midface proportions to achieve a well-balanced facial aesthetic.

4. Post-Surgery Results

5. Expert Insights

This case required a combination of functional correction and aesthetic refinement to ensure the patient’s nasal function and appearance were both optimized. By utilizing a combination of donor rib cartilage and septal reconstruction, we stabilized the nasal structure while achieving the desired natural look.

Key points from this case:

🔹 Precision osteotomy to correct nasal asymmetry

🔹 Functional improvements through septoplasty and cartilage grafting

🔹 Careful balance of bridge height and tip projection

🔹 Harmonization of nasal proportions with the patient’s facial features

At Nose Lab Clinic, we focus on achieving both functional and aesthetic excellence to provide long-term satisfaction for our patients.
