Hello, Iโm Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Medical Director at NOSELAB Clinic.
Today, Iโd like to share the case of a patient who desired a rhinoplasty that would create a naturally refined yet elegant nasal contour. The patient sought a result that avoided an overly elongated appearance, while improving tip definition and correcting asymmetries.

This case highlights the importance of tailoring surgery to the patient's aesthetic preferences while addressing multiple functional and structural concerns. The patient prioritized a natural-looking outcome with a more defined tip, without the appearance of a long or overly stylized nose.
Preoperatively, I explained that a perfectly straight nasal bridge might not be fully achievable, and the patient opted for a naturally elegant result over a rigidly straight profile. The bulbous, wide tip required precise cartilage reshaping, while the drooping tip was addressed with septal extension using autologous rib cartilage.
Simultaneously, we corrected alar and nostril asymmetries and refined the nasolabial angle to harmonize with the patientโs facial proportions. Because the patient also suffered from nasal congestion due to allergic rhinitis, we performed functional surgery alongside the aesthetic correctionsโleading to improvements in both breathing and appearance.
The result is a nose that is refined, elegant, and well-balancedโwhile remaining natural and stable in the long term. This case exemplifies how thoughtful planning and structural reinforcement using rib cartilage can achieve both beauty and function.
Thank you for reading.
