Introduction – Personalized Bulbous Nose Correction

Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang from Nose Lab Clinic.

TToday, I’ll introduce a patient case focused on bulbous nose correction combined with nostril asymmetry improvement. The design aimed to create a masculine straight bridge while maintaining natural balance and function.

Design consultation photos of a male rhinoplasty patient – frontal, left side, and oblique side views. Preoperative assessment images highlighting a bulbous nasal tip and nostril asymmetry.

1. Initial Assessment

a. Frontal View

  • Bulbous, wide nasal tip

  • Nostril asymmetry

  • Flat, broad nasal shape

b. Side Profile

  • Droopy nasal tip

  • Slight protrusion of the upper lip

  • Low nasal bridge origin

c. Nostril & Columella

  • Asymmetrical nostrils

  • Right-deviated columella

2. Patient’s Requests

  • Refine bulbous nasal shape

  • Create a straight, masculine bridge

  • Keep the tip natural, not upturned

  • Improve nasal airflow and breathing

  • Avoid an overly sharp or artificial result

3. Surgical Approach

a. Structural Refinement

  • Bulbous Nose Correction by refining nasal tip

  • Formation of a straight nasal bridge (masculine line)

  • Correction of columella deviation

b. Aesthetic Balance

  • Tip reshaping for elegance

  • Nasolabial angle correction

  • Symmetry enhancement

c. Functional Enhancement

  • Septoplasty for better breathing

  • Turbinate reduction via radiofrequency

  • Improved internal nasal airflow

4. Surgical Outcomes

a. Frontal View

  • Sharper, more balanced nasal tip

  • Reduced bulbosity

  • Improved nostril symmetry

b. Side Profile

  • Masculine, straight nasal bridge

  • Improved nasolabial angle

  • Balanced overall nasal projection

Before and immediately after oblique view photos of a male patient’s rhinoplasty – left shows wide nasal tip, right shows improved nasal symmetry and refined bridge after surgery
Before (Left) / Immediately After (Right)

c. Nostril & Columella

  • Aligned columella

  • Reinforced nasal base

  • Symmetrical nostrils

This bulbous nose correction case required a delicate balance between aesthetics and function. The goal was not just to refine the tip, but to form a naturally masculine straight nasal line that avoids sharpness or exaggeration.

With non-open (closed) rhinoplasty, we ensured minimal scarring and fast recovery.Breathing function was also enhanced through internal corrections.

At Nose Lab, all surgeries are performed using a closed (non-open) approach.
