Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Medical Director at Nose Lab Clinic.
Today, I would like to introduce a closed rhinoplasty Korea case that successfully corrected a crooked, long nose combined with significant facial asymmetry. We achieved both aesthetic and functional improvements through autologous rib cartilage reconstruction and nasal obstruction surgery.

Surgical History of Closed Rhinoplasty Korea

The patient had a history of nasal filler injection (later dissolved) and an augmentation rhinoplasty using ear cartilage and hump reduction performed 8-9 years ago.
Surgical History:
10 years ago: Filler injection
8-9 years ago: Augmentation rhinoplasty with ear cartilage and hump reduction
Initial Assessment for Closed Rhinoplasty Korea

Patient Profile
Symptoms: Nasal obstruction during sleep, snoring
Notable condition: Severe facial asymmetry
Primary Issues
Nose visibly deviated to the left
Long nose causing facial imbalance
Bulbous nasal tip
Low nasal bridge, insufficient nasal height
Incomplete correction from previous surgeries
Functional Issues
Nighttime nasal obstruction
Snoring
Suspected deviated septum
Critical Note
Severe facial asymmetry exacerbating nasal deviation
Simultaneous need for aesthetic and functional correction through closed rhinoplasty Korea
Surgical Plan for Closed Rhinoplasty Korea
Autologous Rib Cartilage Reconstruction
Complete removal of previous surgical materials
Structural stability reinforced using autologous rib cartilage
Sufficient nasal height achieved for a sophisticated profile
Septal Reconstruction
Precise correction of the deviated septum
Realignment considering the patient’s severe facial asymmetry
Columellar Angle Adjustment
Adjusted columellar angle to correct the long nose appearance
Raised nasal tip to achieve midface shortening effect
Nasal Obstruction Surgery
Septoplasty to resolve nasal blockage
Turbinate reduction for improved nasal airflow
Significant improvement in breathing and sleep quality
Facial Asymmetry Correction
Maximum achievable correction considering the patient’s severe facial asymmetry
Fine-tuned adjustments to create visual balance

Specialist’s Commentary on Closed Rhinoplasty Korea

This patient had previously undergone filler injection and ear cartilage rhinoplasty but still struggled with nasal deviation, long nose, and a bulbous nasal tip. The issue was further complicated by pronounced facial asymmetry, which made the crooked appearance more severe.
Through closed rhinoplasty Korea, we provided structural correction using autologous rib cartilage reconstruction, which offered both long-term stability and the desired nasal height.
The key strategy to visually shorten the nose was adjusting the columellar angle and elevating the nasal tip, which improved overall facial balance.
Bulbous tip correction was carefully performed using rib cartilage to create a refined, well-defined nasal tip.
Functional correction was equally prioritized. We performed septoplasty and turbinate reduction to resolve nasal obstruction and improve breathing, especially during sleep.
Facial asymmetry compensation was one of the most challenging parts of this surgery. Although perfect symmetry is impossible in such cases, we maximized correction to create a visually balanced, harmonious appearance.
Ultimately, we achieved the patient’s goals:
✔️ A straight, elegant nose
✔️ A refined nasal tip
✔️ A visually shorter midface
✔️ Comfortable breathing and improved sleep quality
This case is a successful example of combining aesthetic and functional correction through closed rhinoplasty Korea.
