Hello, I am Dr. Chayoung Kang, Director of Noselab Rhinoplasty Clinic.
Drooping Nose Tip due to Aging
Today, we will discuss a common surgery case to correct a droopy, long and blunt nose. In the case of people who have never undergone rhinoplasty before, the nose tip becomes flatter and wider naturally as they age. It seems there is nothing that can withstand the test of time. The skin loses its elasticity and sags, and the ligaments that hold the cartilage tight also stretch. The result of aging is that the nose tip becomes droopy.
Today we will talk about a patient whose nose became visibly more and more saggy, and wants to correct it to look beautiful and natural.
Before and After Surgery Photos
The patient’s nose tip skin was thick, and the nose itself was big, which means it was a bulbous nose. Therefore, to make the nose tip appear thinner, I slightly increased its height, and partially removed the subcutaneous tissue of the skin below the nose tip to give it a more sophisticated appearance.
The squashed appearance of the nose tip has now disappeared, and the the starting point of the radix was lowered, which cannot be fully observed in the photo due to swelling. When the swelling decreases and the scar tissue disappears, in abour 1 to 3 months after surgery, there will be a considerable improvement.
From the front view, we can observe that the wide nose appearance has been improved significantly, as well as the shape of the columella.
The patient also presented nosetril asymmetry. The nostrils, which were very round, have been transformed to a more natural oval shape.

General Review
As we grow older, it seems impossible to avoid the sagging and widening deformation of the nose tip. This is specially true, for individuals with large noses.
In these cases, closed rhinoplasty surgery at Noselab, which does not leave scars and is uncomplicated but effective, may be the solution! I hope this information is useful for those who are concerned with an increasingly droopy and lower nose due to aging.
