Surgical Plan

Taking into account the patient's condition and needs, the following surgical plan was established:

a) Septal extension surgery (using septal cartilage and donated costal cartilage)

b) Lateral osteotomy (correcting a wide and bent nose bridge)

c) Shaving the nasal hump

d) Raising the bridge of the nose using a thin silicone implant (starting point aligned to the pupil line)

  • The bumpy nose bridge became a natural-looking straight line.

  • The wide and blunt nose tip took on a softer shape.

  • Facial balance improvement after minimizing the mouth protrusion.

Overview

This case is a successful example of correction of a patient with complex problems such as a long nose, arrow nose, humped nose, and asymmetry of the nostrils. The following are particularly noteworthy:

  1. Adjusting the length of the nose: Through septal extension surgery, a long, droopy nose was made shorter to a natural proportion. This is not simply a matter of making the nose shorter, but an important process that takes into account the balance of the entire face.

  2. Arrow nose correction: By lifting the droopy columella and improving the shape of the tip of the nose, the arrow nose look was effectively corrected. This is a significant change that greatly improves the overall impression of the nose.

  3. Nasal hump improvement: The uneven parts of the nose bridge were smoothed out and a soft line was created using a thin silicone implant. This created a natural and sophisticated nose bridge shape.

  4. Nostril Asymmetry Correction: The asymmetry of the nostrils is effectively improved through the repositioning of the alar cartilage together with the septal lengthening surgery. This is an important factor that greatly improves the overall balance and harmony of the nose when viewed from the front.

  5. Closed Rhinoplasty Approach: By performing all the complex procedures through closed rhinoplasty, we minimized surgical scars and shortened the recovery period. This played a major role in increasing patient satisfaction.

The most important consideration in this surgery was to improve each part of the nose while maintaining the overall harmony and naturalness. The tip of the nose was made to look sharp while not being excessive, and the height of the bridge of the nose was improved while maintaining the height of the glabella, so as not to create an unnatural appearance.

In addition, we designed the shape of the nose by considering the patient's original facial features. This is a result of our Noselab's philosophy that it is important to create a nose that best matches the patient's face, rather than simply creating an ideal.

Conclusion

I hope this case has given hope to those who are concerned about long noses, arrow noses, and nasal humps. Even complex nose problems can be created with appropriate surgical planning and techniques to create a natural and beautiful nose.

Rhinoplasty should not only consider the cosmetic aspect, but also the functional aspect. For example, in this case, the septal lengthening surgery improves the shape of the nose while also improving breathing function.

Through a comprehensive approach that simultaneously considers functional and cosmetic improvements, we aim to create beautiful noses that breathe easy.

With Noselab Clinic you can achieve a beautiful and healthy nose!

Thank you.
