Hello, I’m Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Director of NOSELAB Clinic.

Today, I’m sharing a real case of bulbous tip correction performed through autologous rib cartilage grafting, where we successfully transformed a wide and blunt nose into a more refined, glamorous shape with improved tip projection and nasal proportions.

  • Broad nasal bridge

  • Bulbous nasal tip

  • Flat dorsum

  • Asymmetric alar base

2. Side View Findings

  • Retracted columella

3. Nostril View Findings

  • Asymmetry

  • Wide alar base

👨‍⚕️ Expert Commentary – Why Bulbous Tip Correction Requires Precision

Immediately after surgery: frontal, side, and oblique side views showing reduced nasal width, defined nasal tip, and corrected nasolabial angle.
Immediately after surgery: Frontal view, side view, and oblique side view photos.
Immediately after surgery: Nostril view showing reduced nostril width and reshaped columella with internal packing visible.

In this case, the core challenge was correcting the wide, blunt nasal tip without making it appear overly sharp. Using autologous rib cartilage allowed for secure structural support while achieving the desired elegance and height. The combination of narrowing, projection, and symmetry correction successfully met the patient's aesthetic goals.
