Preoperative Analysis – Deviated and Hump Nose with Hanging Columella
This patient visited our clinic in Seoul to correct a deviated and hump nose with a hanging columella.
The nasal bridge appeared curved, and the tip of the nose drooped downward, making the profile line less defined.
The goal of surgery was to straighten the nasal axis, remove the dorsal hump, and reposition the columella to improve balance between the upper lip and nose.
Surgical Findings – Rib Cartilage Reconstruction through Closed Rhinoplasty Seoul
During surgery, the septal cartilage was found to be deviated and partially weakened.
To reinforce the nasal tip and columella, a small piece of self rib cartilage was used.
The nasal bridge was reshaped using precise osteotomy, and the hump was corrected for a smoother and more natural line.
The columella was slightly lifted and repositioned to achieve a balanced 95-degree nasolabial angle.
Postoperative Results – Natural Line and Functional Balance

Immediately after surgery, the nasal axis became straight, and the hanging columella was corrected naturally.
The previously curved bridge now shows a clean, smooth contour, and the nostril asymmetry was minimized.
The use of self rib cartilage allowed both structural strength and functional improvement.
General Review – Structural Stability and Long-term Outcome
The case demonstrates how Closed Rhinoplasty Seoul using self rib cartilage can effectively correct both form and function.
No external incision was made, preserving the natural look without visible scars.
With proper postoperative care, the result is expected to stabilize with a more refined contour over time.
