Patient History and Development of Contracture

The patient presented with nasal deformity and functional discomfort caused by post-surgical contracture following a previous rhinoplasty involving silicone implantation and multiple cartilage grafts. Progressive tightening of the soft tissue resulted in visible distortion of the nasal shape, nostril asymmetry, and impaired airflow. In addition, significant septal damage compromised both structural stability and breathing.

Surgical Planning for Contracted Nose Rhinoplasty Korea

Removal of Implant and Fibrotic Capsule

In Contracted Nose Rhinoplasty Korea, complete removal of the silicone implant and the surrounding fibrotic capsule is essential. These foreign materials are the primary cause of tissue contraction and must be eliminated to prevent recurrence. A clean surgical field allowed for safe and predictable reconstruction.

Septal Reconstruction to Restore Nasal Function

The nasal septum had been weakened by prior surgeries. We reconstructed the septum to re-establish central support and reopen the airway. Septal reconstruction is a critical step in restoring both breathing function and long-term nasal stability.

Lateral Osteotomy for Nasal Bone Realignment

The patient exhibited wide and asymmetrical nasal bones. Precise lateral osteotomy was performed to reposition the bones into a more balanced alignment, improving frontal symmetry while maintaining a natural nasal width.

Rib Cartilage Reconstruction of the Nasal Bridge

Autologous rib cartilage was used to reconstruct the nasal bridge. Its strength, volume, and resistance to absorption make it the most reliable graft material in complex revision cases, particularly those involving contracture.

Correction of Retracted Left Nostril

The left nostril appeared elevated due to contracture and soft tissue imbalance. By carefully lowering the alar rim, we restored nostril symmetry and improved the overall nasal proportion.

Surgeon’s Commentary on Contracted Nose Rhinoplasty Korea

Expert Insight

Nasal contracture is one of the most challenging complications following rhinoplasty and is most commonly associated with foreign implants. In Contracted Nose Rhinoplasty Korea, removing both the implant and capsule is mandatory to halt disease progression.

Septal reconstruction plays a decisive role in preventing secondary collapse and restoring nasal airflow. Autologous rib cartilage remains the safest and most predictable graft material in these cases due to its durability and biocompatibility.

By combining implant removal, septal reconstruction, osteotomy, and rib cartilage grafting, we were able to restore both function and form in a stable and natural manner.

At Nose Lab Clinic, we approach contracted nose deformities with a structural philosophy focused on long-term safety, balance, and patient-specific anatomy.
