Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Chief Director of NoseLab Plastic Surgery in Seoul.

Today’s case demonstrates how crooked nose correction and functional rhinoplasty can be successfully combined to restore both aesthetic balance and comfortable breathing. Many patients visit us hoping to improve the shape of their nose and breathe more easily — this case perfectly shows that both goals can be achieved together.

Crooked Nose Correction – Surgical History and Patient Concerns

The patient previously underwent rhinoplasty and filler procedures, but her crooked nose remained visible, and she continued to experience nasal obstruction caused by chronic rhinitis.

Surgical History:

  • 2018: Nose filler injection

  • 2019: Rhinoplasty (silicone implant + septal cartilage + ear cartilage + donated rib cartilage)

Despite these treatments, her nasal deviation persisted, and her breathing discomfort worsened.

She sought crooked nose correction that would also resolve her functional nasal issues.

Crooked Nose Correction and Functional Rhinoplasty Planning

Because this case required both aesthetic refinement and functional correction, we developed a comprehensive surgical plan focusing on long-term stability and harmony.

Aesthetic Reconstruction for Crooked Nose Correction

  • Lateral osteotomy to realign the nasal bones and correct deviation

  • Adjustment of the nasal bridge starting point for smoother contour

  • Nasolabial angle refinement to create facial balance

  • Nostril symmetry correction for improved proportion

Functional Rhinoplasty for Breathing Improvement

  • Septoplasty to correct septal deviation and open the airway

  • Submucosal resection of inferior turbinates using radiofrequency to treat chronic rhinitis

  • Adhesiolysis to remove mucosal adhesions and prevent recurrence

Structural Reinforcement

  • Removed old silicone implant and replaced it with a new, precisely contoured implant

  • Used autologous rib cartilage for septal reconstruction and extension

  • Restored long-term support and natural nasal alignment

Expert Insight on Crooked Nose Correction and Structural Stability

Cases involving both nasal deviation and obstruction require high-level precision and anatomical understanding.

In this case, autologous rib cartilage provided strong support for structural correction, ensuring long-term durability.

By combining functional rhinoplasty techniques with precise crooked nose correction, we achieved both aesthetic beauty and lasting comfort.

At NoseLab Plastic Surgery, we emphasize structural stability and functional balance to achieve results that look natural and feel effortless.
