Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Director of Nose Lab Clinic.

Today, I’d like to share a detailed Deviated Nose Correction case for a patient with facial asymmetry. This case demonstrates how closed rhinoplasty can address multiple concerns—such as a deviated nose, dorsal hump, and drooping columella—while restoring natural balance to the face.

Patient’s Concerns – Why Deviated Nose Correction Was Needed

This patient presented with:

  • A deviated nose

  • A prominent dorsal hump

  • A drooping columella

  • Nostril asymmetry

  • Allergic rhinitis symptoms

She had also undergone non-surgical procedures in the past, including nasal fillers (5 years ago) and a short-lived thread lift (2 years ago), which were later removed.

Pre-Surgical Consultation and Planning for Deviated Nose Correction

During the consultation, we noted:

  • Facial asymmetry contributing to the deviated nose

  • A dorsal hump that disrupted feminine balance

  • Drooping nasal tip making the nose appear longer

  • Low columella elongating the profile

  • Asymmetry in nostril shape

Customized Surgical Plan:

  • Harvest autologous rib cartilage for nasal tip refinement

  • Perform Deviated Nose Correction with lateral osteotomy

  • Smooth the dorsal hump

  • Elevate the columella for balance

  • Reposition alar cartilage to improve nostril symmetry

  • Add a silicone implant for a natural forehead-to-nose transition

Surgical Technique – Closed Approach for Deviated Nose Correction

I exclusively perform closed rhinoplasty, which was particularly effective in this case:

  • No external scar on the columella

  • Reduced swelling and faster recovery

  • Safe and precise correction for deviated nose and asymmetry

The most complex step was aligning the deviated nasal structure while accounting for her overall facial asymmetry.

Post-Surgical Results – Achieving Symmetry After Deviated Nose Correction

The before-and-after photos reveal:

  • A smoother nasal bridge without the dorsal hump

  • Corrected deviated nose for improved symmetry

  • Lifted nasal tip and refined columella for a shorter, more feminine profile

  • Balanced nostril shape

  • Reduced visibility of facial asymmetry overall

Key Insights on Deviated Nose Correction

  • Correction isn’t only about straightening the nose—it’s about facial harmony

  • Closed rhinoplasty is effective for patients with asymmetry and deviation

  • Proper planning ensures both aesthetic and functional improvements

Conclusion

This Deviated Nose Correction case highlights the value of personalized planning and the closed rhinoplasty approach. By addressing the dorsal hump, drooping columella, and nasal deviation, we achieved a natural, balanced outcome even with underlying facial asymmetry.

At Nose Lab Clinic, we prioritize safe, scar-free, and natural results tailored to each patient’s unique features.

Thank you,Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Director of Nose Lab Clinic.
