🔎 Initial Assessment and Concerns

At Nose Lab Clinic, we met a patient seeking upturned nose correction due to excessive nostril exposure and a broad nasal base. The patient wanted a natural and balanced result without artificial elongation.

Frontal View

  • Severe nostril exposure from the front

  • Wide nasal bridge

  • Low nasal dorsum

  • Mildly crooked nasal axis

Side Profile

  • Upturned tip with visible nostrils

  • Protruding upper lip

  • Uneven dorsal contour

Nasal Base

  • Enlarged nostrils

  • Rightward columellar deviation

  • Mild nostril asymmetry

💉 Surgical Goals and Plan

Our plan focused on aesthetic balance and functional enhancement while maintaining natural proportions.

  • Reduce nostril exposure through upturned nose correction

  • Refine and lower the nasal base

  • Straighten columella

  • Smooth dorsal line

  • Correct nasolabial angle

  • Restore tip definition using cartilage reshaping

  • Treat deviated septum and turbinate hypertrophy for breathing improvement

This upturned nose correction case required a careful balance of aesthetics and function. The patient desired a nose that appeared refined yet natural — without being overdone.

We achieved that with a closed (scarless) approach, using precise cartilage grafting and reshaping techniques.

Importantly, functional breathing issues were also resolved — a reminder that many rhinoplasty cases involve both cosmetic and medical elements.

All procedures at Nose Lab are performed using a closed rhinoplasty approach to ensure no external scars.
