This Closed Rhinoplasty Korea case involves a patient who presented with a short, upturned nose and nostrils that were overly visible from the front. The nasal tip skin was hardened and bulbous, indicating a long-term contracted and pinched condition due to multiple previous surgeries.

Preoperative Counseling and Surgical Plan in Closed Rhinoplasty Korea

The nasal structure showed significant deformation compared to the number of previous surgeries, suggesting a typical contracted nose condition.

To improve the hardened nasal skin, I planned a combination of stem cell therapy and surgery.

Since the nasal tip cartilage appeared severely damaged, I decided to reconstruct it using autologous rib cartilage.

A septal extension with rib bone was performed to lower the tip naturally, creating a smoother nasal line. Additionally, I planned to lower the starting point of the silicone implant on the nasal bridge to maintain balanced proportions and avoid an elongated appearance.

Reconstruction Findings and Postoperative Results

Intraoperative findings confirmed that approximately 80% of both alar cartilages were removed, and the nasal tip was filled with hard, contracted tissue.

The existing silicone implant was also removed due to suspected foreign body reactions.

After sufficiently excising the contracted tissue, I reconstructed the nasal tip and alar cartilages with autologous rib cartilage for structural support.

In the right-side photo, the columella was naturally lowered, the nasolabial angle was set around 95 degrees, and the bulbous nasal tip significantly improved.

At a 45-degree view, the nasal tip’s downward direction looked natural, and the overly exposed nostrils were well corrected.

From the front view, the triangular nostril shape became smooth and symmetrical, achieving a natural nasal balance.

Improving Contracted Nose with Autologous Rib Cartilage and Stem Cell Therapy

This Closed Rhinoplasty Korea case highlights how contracted and pinched noses can be effectively corrected through a combination of rib cartilage reconstruction and stem cell therapy.

All foreign materials causing chronic inflammation and contraction were removed to prevent recurrence.

Stem cell therapy will continue postoperatively to maintain soft tissue flexibility and prevent re-contraction.

The overall contracted and pinched appearance has improved dramatically, restoring both nasal shape and tissue health.

Postoperative precautions and possible complications after rhinoplasty – includes information on infection, bleeding, asymmetry, allergic reactions, and scarring.
