Introduction to Nasal Asymmetry Correction

Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Director of Nose Lab Clinic.

Today, I’d like to share the story of a patient who came to us after 15 years of coping with a deviated nose and asymmetrical nostrils. This case demonstrates how careful nasal asymmetry correction through revision rhinoplasty can make a meaningful difference not only in appearance but also in quality of life.

A Long Journey Before Nasal Asymmetry Correction

Fifteen years ago, this patient underwent her first rhinoplasty with ear cartilage, septal cartilage, and donor rib cartilage. Over time, her right nostril base sank, leading to visible asymmetry and frustration.

Pre-Surgical Analysis for Nasal Asymmetry Correction

During her consultation at Nose Lab Clinic, we observed:

  • Upturned nose and deviation

  • Asymmetrical nostrils

  • Slight dip in the bridge

  • High starting point for the nasal bridge

Surgical Plan for Effective Nasal Asymmetry Correction

To restore balance, we planned:

  • Septal reconstruction with autologous rib cartilage

  • Alar cartilage adjustment for tip refinement

  • Implant replacement for straighter alignment

  • Reconstruction of the right nostril base with ear or rib cartilage

After surgery, the improvements were remarkable:

  • Front View: Noticeable reduction in nostril asymmetry

  • Side View: Balanced nasal bridge and improved nasolabial angle

  • Nostril View: Refined alignment, improved base volume

Final Thoughts on Nasal Asymmetry Correction

This case proves that nasal asymmetry correction is not only about achieving perfect symmetry but about restoring harmony and natural balance. At Nose Lab Clinic, we always focus on customized approaches for both aesthetics and function.

👉 Nose Lab Clinic performs all rhinoplasty procedures through a closed (endonasal) approach.
