Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang from Nose Lab Clinic.

Today, I’d like to share a case involving Cat Implant Removal combined with natural nasal reconstruction to correct a crooked nose and restore a balanced appearance.

1. Patient Background and Surgical History

  • 13 years ago: Nose filler injections

  • 10 years ago: Silicone + Ear cartilage graft

  • Shortly after: Revision surgery due to bridge-tip imbalance

  • 2024: One session of fat reduction injection for the nose

  • 3–4 years ago: Forehead filler treatment

2. Preoperative Observations

a. Frontal View

  • Severe nasal deviation

  • Overly high nasal bridge start creating a harsh impression

  • Thin skin with uneven texture

  • Unnatural facial harmony

b. Side Profile

  • Elongated nasal contour

  • Irregularities due to previous implant and cartilage

  • Unbalanced nasal projection

c. Nostril & Columella

  • Asymmetrical nostrils

  • Leftward deviation of columella

  • Distorted nasal base

3. Patient Goals

  • Safe Cat Implant Removal

  • Create a soft and elegant nasal line

  • Correct deviation and surface irregularities

  • Improve breathing function and nasal flow

4. Surgical Plan & Techniques

a. Cat Implant and Foreign Material Removal

  • Complete removal of cat implant and unknown glabellar materials

  • Lowering the overly high nasal bridge starting point

  • Excision of irregular ear cartilage on right nasal bridge

  • Dermal grafting for even skin thickness

Removed cat implant and silicone nasal implant placed on sterile gauze after revision rhinoplasty.

b. Structural Reconstruction

  • Lateral osteotomy to straighten nasal bridge

  • Septal extension using autologous rib cartilage

  • Alar cartilage repositioning and suturing for better tip support

c. Functional Enhancements

Endoscopic images showing inside of the nasal cavity, capturing deviated septum and nasal turbinate condition before surgery.

  • Septoplasty for deviated septum

  • Radiofrequency turbinate reduction

  • Improved nasal airflow

5. Postoperative Outcomes

a. Frontal View

  • Straightened nasal alignment

  • Softer facial expression with lower bridge start

  • Balanced symmetry and smooth skin

b. Side Profile

  • Refined nasal contour

  • Shortened and more proportional nose

  • Natural and feminine nasal line

c. Nostril & Columella

  • Symmetrical nostrils

  • Realigned columella

  • Harmonized nasal tip projection

This was a complex Cat Implant Removal case with multiple layers of prior surgeries and unknown foreign substances. The excessive ear cartilage and implant had caused asymmetry and surface bumps. We used dermal grafts to refine skin contour and autologous cartilage to stabilize internal structure.

Many patients are concerned about aesthetic changes after removing a cat implant. However, this case demonstrates that with a precise plan, it is possible to maintain elegance and harmony—even after full implant removal.

At Nose Lab, all surgeries are performed non-open (closed rhinoplasty) for optimal healing and minimal scarring.

Thank you.— Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Chief Surgeon, Nose Lab Clinic
