Why Closed Rhinoplasty Korea Was Essential in This Graft Absorption Case
Hello, this is Dr. Cha-Young Kang, Director of Nose Lab Clinic.
In this post, I’m sharing a complex closed rhinoplasty Korea case. The patient had previously undergone multiple surgeries involving donor rib cartilage and silicone implants, which eventually led to graft absorption, nasal tip collapse, and visible scarring. To restore nasal structure and aesthetics, we performed a full reconstruction using autologous rib cartilage.
Surgical History and Key Problems

✅ Initial Surgery: Grafted rib cartilage (inflammation developed)
✅ 2018 Surgery: Silicone implant + auricular cartilage + donor rib cartilage
⚠️ Main Issues:
Graft absorption and tip shrinkage
Shortened nasal length
Drooping tip and over-rotated appearance
Pinched and asymmetric nostrils
Dorsal scarring and skin thinning

Patient’s Goals with Closed Rhinoplasty Korea
Correct deformities caused by graft resorption
Restore natural nasal length and projection
Improve nostril symmetry
Smooth out scarring and skin irregularities
Achieve a stable, natural-looking result
Surgical Plan and Reconstruction Techniques
We used closed rhinoplasty Korea techniques with the following key steps:
Rib cartilage septal extension graft
Bilateral alar cartilage reconstruction
Correction of over-rotation and columellar angle
Scar smoothing with dermal + cartilage grafts
Tip projection and dorsal contour correction
Surgical Outcome of Closed Rhinoplasty Korea

✅ Frontal view: Restored alar symmetry, softer nostril lines

✅ Side view: Improved nasal length and tip elevation

✅ Nostril view: Balanced nostril shape and reduced overexposure

✅ Overall: Natural, refined profile with stable long-term support
Surgeon’s Commentaryy

This patient experienced chronic issues due to previous surgeries, especially graft absorption and nasal scarring. Through closed rhinoplasty Korea, we reconstructed the nasal framework using autologous rib cartilage—offering both aesthetic refinement and structural stability. This case highlights the reliability of using the patient’s own tissue in revision surgery, avoiding further foreign material complications.
