Hello, I’m Dr. Cha-Young Kang, chief director of NOSELAB Clinic.

Today, I’d like to share a rhinoplasty case focused on achieving a natural nasal bridge and balanced, oval-shaped nostrils for overall harmony.

Patient Goals for a Natural Nasal Bridge and Nostril Shape

This was the patient’s first rhinoplasty. She provided clear photo references showing both preferred and undesired results, which helped us design a surgical plan closely aligned with her vision.

Her main requests included:

  • A natural nasal bridge with three gentle, parallel lines visible from the front

  • Oval-shaped nostrils that matched her facial proportions

  • A graceful side profile with moderate bridge height

  • Avoiding overly high or angular bridge lines, droopy nasal tip, or unnatural nostril exposure

Surgical Plan for Natural Nasal Bridge and Ideal Nostril Design

  1. Sculpting the Nasal Bridge – Designed dorsal height to match facial proportions, created soft parallel lines, ensured smooth transition from forehead to tip.

  2. Designing Nostril Shape – Formed oval nostrils with minimal exposure, achieved symmetry while preserving airflow.

  3. Refining the Side Profile – Adjusted nasolabial angle, repositioned tip for harmony, achieved a fluid silhouette from forehead to jawline.

This case highlights the importance of patient communication. By sharing clear visual references, the patient allowed us to deliver a customized result matching her ideal.

A natural nasal bridge that isn’t too high yet maintains definition is one of the most common requests. Overly elevated bridges can look artificial, while proper height enhances balance.

Nostril design also plays a critical role. The oval nostril shape is often considered the most aesthetically pleasing, offering a natural and harmonious impression.

At NOSELAB Clinic, we carefully listen to patient goals and deliver rhinoplasty that enhances both natural beauty and individuality.
